Hello and welcome back to another revelation post! It has been a bit of a shaky month, but I give all glory to the Most High. I pray that this blesses you as it did me:
2 Kings 2:21-22 (NKJV) reads “21 Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ”22 So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
For context this is the second miracle Elisha performs right after inheriting the mantle of Elijah. Back in verse 15 it reads “Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said ‘The spirit of Elijah rest on Elisha.” And they came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him”. They were able to discern this after Elisha struck the water of the Jordan and divided it so that he could pass through, just as Elijah did previously before he was taken up into heaven. Reading how Elisha inherited a double portion of Elijah’s spirit was awe-inspiring, however the revelation came to me after he performed a miracle to help the nearby city. This is where the key verse comes into play. I read over it but couldn’t help coming back and re-reading it over and over again until it finally clicked: “Authority surrendered to God is power”. This was what Holy Spirit was showing me in verses 21-22.
The waters remained healed according to the word Elisha spoke, yet all Elisha did was repeat what God said. God said, “I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death” (verse 21) and then Elisha repeated it. Elisha’s authority in the natural was surrendered to God in he spiritual and it bridged the divide between dimensions to bring about the miracle of healing in the waters. This puts to bed the “power” behind the “name it and claim it” act, because if God doesn’t speak something as it pertains to you or your situation, you’re wielding your delegated (meaning not yours originally) authority but it has no real or lasting power. What Elisha spoke came to pass and remained long after he was gone because his authority was surrendered to God, and as we know, what God says goes. That being said, we know there is power in the tongue, so I encourage you to not speak of our situation but speak to it. In the Word of God, I can bet you He’s already spoken about whatever you’re contending with. Do as Elisha did and speak what the Lord said and watch the waters in your life heal before your eyes.
I pray this blessed you as it did me, stay tuned for the next post of the month and may God bless you and your household.
Until next time
