Protect Your Expectancy

God bless you! I pray all is well, shout out to my fellow Floridians enduring these very real storms, praying traveling mercies over you as you go about your day. This revelation came to me at work as I experienced a random burst of excitement, like when you see a package you ordered is out for delivery and will arrive soon. I pray it reinvigorates you as it did me:

The devil wants to do everything he can to kill your excitement because then your expectancy plummets and your faith waivers. To combat that we ought to use the weapon of praise as well as verbally declaring and reiterating the promise(s) God spoke to us be it through visions, dreams, or confirmations through prophets.

This warfare is why one moment we’re on fire (normally when we first receive a word from God or get a confirmation of a word) and the next we’re wondering if we heard God right because the enemy is attacking us harder than normal. His job is to kill, steal and destroy. Kill our faith, steal our joy and/or our peace, and destroy our potential to be a threat to his kingdom of darkness.  He doesn’t always attack us directly, but rather he attacks our expectancy, which is tied to our faith in God and His promises.

Another tactic of his is to try and isolate us, to get away from other faith filled individuals who’ll stir up our spirit and remind us of the promises of God spoken over your life and who will intercede for you amid warfare. Be mindful of how the enemy attacks you, as a lot of the times it’s in your mind and during quiet times throughout the day. Encourage yourself in the Word of God which states in Numbers 23:19 (KJV) “God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent; hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”. All that God speaks is true, and though it may not be immediate, make good use of your waiting. Grow your relationship with God, feed yourself with His Word, be diligent in guarding yourself against doubt and weariness, and be proactive. Praise God in advance, prepare for whatever it is you’re asking Him for, or whatever it is He’s sending you.

Take it a day at a time, lean not on your own understanding, and continue to seek first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness, and all things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Remember James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

You got this! Until next time
